Halifax and Calderdale CAMRA Protecting Breweries and promoting the Real Ale and Cider they produce is one of the most important campaigning issues of the Campaign for Real Ale. Every brewery that CAMRA promotes and protects has been given a BLO (brewery liaison officer).  A BLO is an elected/volunteer member of CAMRA that ensures that both the breweries and a local branch of CAMRA are kept informed of developments such as the beers available and campaigning issues that may be of importance.   Our branch BLO are encouraged to write a short report on the brewery for which they lease with for every addition of our branch newsletter CalderCask. This newsletter is posted to our branch members and distributed in a few pubs in our area.  Some copies also go to other local CAMRA branches.
