CALDERCASK REAL ALE GUIDE

This is a comprehensive guide and contains information on over 200 pubs selling real ale in the Halifax & Calderdale district. It has been carefully compiled over the last 6 months by members of the local branch of the Campaign for Real Ale who have carried out visits to over 300 pubs and establishments in the area with full “on” licences to gather information.

The guide costs a  very modest £2.99 with discounts for CAMRA members & wholesale to bookshops & pubs etc. In addition to basic pub details (including facilities) the guide contains historical details about the featured pubs and many original line-art pictures. There is also a lot of other useful information including how to reach the pubs by public transport. Click here for further details.

Welcome to the Web Pages of the Halifax and Calderdale Branch of the Campaign For Real Ale.

CAMRA campaigns for real ale, real pubs and consumer rights. We are an independent, voluntary organisation with 80,000 members and have been described as the most successful consumer group in Europe. CAMRA promotes good-quality real ale and pubs, as well as acting as the consumer's champion in relation to the UK and European beer and drinks industry. We aim to:

  1. Protect and improve consumer rights

  2. Promote quality, choice and value for money

  3. Support the public house as a focus of community life

  4. Campaign for greater appreciation of traditional beers, ciders and perries as part of our national heritage and culture

  5. Seek improvements in all licensed premises and throughout the brewing industry
