As ever things change very quickly in pubs these days. Please email any amendments or new information to caldercask@yahoo.co.uk. Please also email our webmaster Edward Lee so that amendments can be noted on our website.

Brighouse: The Robin Hood has real ale on. The Black Swan is all keg. The George is due to get real ale. The Commercial at Rastrick has reopened. The Spring Gardens in Elland is now keg. The Royal Oak at Lower Edge is keg and up for sale. The Rock Tavern at Upper Edge has a Taylor’s beer on. At Ainley Top the Toby is serving two regional real ales.

Halifax: The George at King Cross which was shut for several months has reopened as The Wellington and is serving real ale. The Shay is serving between two and four real ales. The Royal Oak has reopened as keg. The Ring O’ Bells is reported shut. The Bar 11 at Bull Green has been serving a Brass Monkey beer. The Buccaneer on Hanson Lane is closed. The Golden Lion at Highroad Well has reopened as keg. The Allan Fold in King Cross is shut and a planning application is in for a car wash!  The Stafford Arms at Skircoat is shut. The Wheatley Wells at Wheatley is closed and up for sale. The Travellers Rest at Greetland is scheduled to get real ale on soon. Long Can in the Wheatley valley, which was once the Webster’s brewery visitor centre and has been derelict for several years, has just opened as a pub and is accessed from Pellon. Our branch area now has two Greene King pubs – the Moorings at Sowerby Bridge and the Fleece at Barkisland.

Hebden Bridge: B@r Place, the Inn on the Bridge and the Hole in the Wall all have guest real ales. The Railway has added Castle Rock Harvest Gold to its range.

Luddendenfoot: the Black Lion is closed.

Mytholmroyd: the White Lion is shut.

Ripponden: the former Queen Hotel has reopened as the Honest Lawyer following a much needed external facelift and an interior refit. Cask beers are currently Taylor’s Golden Best and Landlord accompanied by Moorhouse’s Blond Witch. A guest beer from local microbreweries has also been available - quality of all has been excellent.

Sowerby Bridge: The Stirk Bridge is shut. The William IV is shut but there are apparently plans to reopen it as a food-led pub with real ale. The Church Stile at Sowerby is due to reopen.

Todmorden: The Black Swan is Shut. The Pulse has a local guest beer. Updated: 24th Dec 2009 - It was reported in CalderCask that the Golden Lion was closed, this is incorrect and is fully open. CAMRA Apologises for the misprint.
